TradeRoots: Faces of Trade Winner in Cocoa, FL, October 2009

PetroAlgae was very pleased to receive the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Face of Trade Award for its positive impact on the community through trade. Liz Reilly, director of the U.S. Chamber's TradeRoots initiative, said PetroAlgae is a prime example of an American business doing innovative things. "Our award honors small- and medium-size companies in this country that are actively engaged in the global marketplace and creating jobs here in America," Reilly said. Faces of Trade Awards are presented annually to companies that have demonstrated outstanding international success through exports.

PetroAlgae was delighted to win amid fierce competition from industry players. “The Sustainable Biofuels Awards have been developed to help promote the considerable benefits of biofuels production and to encourage greater focus on sustainability criteria throughout the biofuels value chain,” said Green Power Conferences event director Nadim Chaudhry.

The judging panel voted independently on who they felt has provided the greatest sustainability benefits, as measured by GHG savings, environmental impact and further societal benefits of the operations or technology of the nominees.
